Cami and Jay were bored the other afternoon so they volunteered to let me take pictures. But when I gave them books to pose with, they decided they wanted to just read rather than pose. Which was totally fine with me.
This book, The Legand of Sleeping Bear, has been one of my favorites since I was little, so for Christmas I ordered a $0.01 used copy from Amazon and gave it to myself.
The first few times I read it to Cami she got teary-eyed and asked a million questions, trying to understand. Now that she gets the story, she loves it. She'll occasionally pull it out and 'read' it to Jay, and they both absorb the story so intently.
It is SO fun to watch them together, all serious and feeling the emotion of the story.
I think when I have my own house, I'm going to have a big little library. Not just for the kids, but for myself also. There's just something so magical about children's books, the way the words and pictures tell the stories that become so vivid and real in a child's mind.
Maybe I'm just a total child at heart, but I don't care. I love the magic that childhood posesses!
